OCDC Receives Commitment to Excellence Award

OCDC received the Commitment to Excellence Award from Kenneth C. Holt, MD Secretary of Housing and Community Development. OCDC received this award for Neighborhood Revitalization efforts to renovate buildings and facilitate seasonal employee housing.

OCDC grants

OCDC has been awarded the following grants for this year from the Maryland Department of Housing & Community Development: $50,000 for Façade Improvement Program, $50,000 for Green Building Initiatives Program, and $50,000 for its Business Assistance Program. In addition, DHCD has awarded a grant of $65,000 for demolition/predevelopment costs for a mixed use project to be constructed at 16 Baltimore Avenue. At its October 26th Annual Meeting, the Community Development Network of Maryland provided OCDC with its Impact Award. This prestigious award is provided annually to an organization that has shown a tremendous impact on its community.

OCDC receives new grants from DHCD

The OCDC has been informed by the Maryland Department of Housing & Community Development that it will be receiving the following funds in 2016: $50,000 for the OCDC Facade Improvement Program, $50,000 for Green Building Initiatives Program, and $200,000 towards the new Royalton Hotel mixed use project (1101 Atlantic Avenue) for demolition work.

OC Clean Sweep event

On Saturday, November 14th, the OCDC will hold its 3rd annual OC Clean Sweep. This event includes having volunteers pick up trash and debris between the Inlet and 17th Street. Lunch and a shirt will be provided to volunteers. The event begins at 10 am at the OCDC office at 108 Dorchester Street in downtown Ocean City. call the OCDC office at (410) 289-7739 to register and for additional information.

Shore Craft Beer Festival

The first downtown craft beer festival is being held at Sunset Park on October 24th from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Shore Craft.com, OCDC and the Town of Ocean City are sponsoring this inaugural event. 2015 OCDC/Art Davis Memorial Golf Tournament a success

This annual tournament, held on October 7th at Ocean City Golf Club had 30 teams participating. The weather was excellent. Funds from this tournament are used for several OCDC projects and programs.

OCDC gets 3 state grants

OCDC will be receiving grants of $50,000 for its Facade Improvement Program, $50,000 for its Business Assistance Program, and $75,000 for purchase of decorative street lights as part of the Phase II street improvements to St. Louis Avenue.
